Al-Qawi Nanavati

Al-Qawi Nanavati is a print and papermaking artist based in Mumbai, India. She holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA (2017), a Postgraduate Certificate in Indian Aesthetics from Jnanapravaha, Mumbai (2022), and an MA, MFA, and Book Arts and Technology Certification from the University of Iowa, USA (2024).

Nanavati is the co-founder of Young Art Support, a platform that showcases the work of recent art graduates, and one of the four co-creators of the IMMERSE Fellowship.

Her practice is rooted in meditation, repetition, and the ongoing presence of personal loss, its quiet transformation over time and its imprint on daily life.

Her work has been exhibited at the CSMVS Museum (Mumbai), Aicon Gallery (New York), South Asia Institute (Chicago), Webster University (St. Louis), Latitude 28 (New Delhi), and Sakshi Gallery (Mumbai).
