LOOK AT ME...

Zikr Tasbih

This piece has 99 Vandyke brown prints, showing the Zikr towards Allah in one complete cycle of a Tasbih for women who have been victims of Rape. The images are of different news articles and faces of victims along with brown color marks symbolizing dried bloodstains.

This piece was in a show, Flash at The Gene Siskel film center.

Bandagi

Bandagi

This is a series of text based self portrait-like images based on my own experience with emotions, over thinking, always being anxious of being judged and how it started to become a bigger issue in my life than I thought it was. By drawing it out and obsessively reiterating the same piece of text told to me by someone, like a chant/prayer, Bandagi, I hope to relieve the stress of feeling like I'm inferior hence irrelevant.

A few works from this series were a part of the show Touched by Fire, Art and Laughter, a celebration of creativity—in honor of the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario’s 30th anniversary held in Toronto, Canada.

Eyes Make You

Eyes Make You

To me, Eyes are the easiest way to know another person. While working on this series I referred to mythological characters along with my own experiences with people to build around The Eye.

Hidden I

Look at me....

Look at me..

Look at me,

Looking at you,

Look at me

I see you,

Seeing me,

I see you

Watch the way,

You watch me,

I’m watching you

Looking at you,

Looking at me,

I’m Looking.

Look Away

Hiding from you

You Like Me
